Readers Guide—Lesson Plans
This book was written with an adult audience in mind. However, when the manuscript was being passed around, teachers who like literature based learning were ecstatic to find an historical novel in a desert setting. Therefore, the “accident” was toned down and other sections modified to allow the material to be appropriate for young adult readers.
Being a teacher and knowing how helpful lesson ideas are I have crafted some suggestions for each chapter. Not wanting to limit the audience to young adult readers and hoping adult reading groups would be interested in the book, I have also offered a discussion guide for them. Although, I am confident adults can think of enough to discuss without my help. Enjoy!
